1/26: Cancelled District C-6 Community COMPSTAT Public Safety Meeting hosted by sister neighborhood organization, Andrew Square Civic Association, at 6:30pm at 2 Algar Street.This meeting will be rescheduled in the spring.

1/27: FPNA 2026 Kickoff Neighborhood Gathering at 6pm at the Community Work Lounge, 15 Necco St or online. 

1/28: Congress St.(Sleeper St. & A Street) virtual Pre-Construction Meeting from 6pm to 8pm.

1/29: Atlantic Wharf Gallery Opening Reception of Lucid Ground, an exhibition by the Pell Lucy Artist Collective from 5pm to 7pm at 290 Congress St. Show runs through April 3rd.

1/29:The Reshaping of New England's Seasons: What's happening to our weather? at 6pm. A free in person and virtual talk hosted by the Boston Globe and New England Aquarium at the Simons Theatre at 1 Central Wharf and online.

1/29: Porter Square Books' free screening of the pilot episode of Broadway Books, a sitcom based in NYC about an independent bookstore struggling to survive using increasingly desperate measures, at 7pm at 50 Liberty Dr. There will be a Q&A following the screening with writer/director Carianne King.

Illuminate the Harbor With Fireworks & Music This Thursday Night

On the evening of Thursday, August 28,2025 at 8:30pm fireworks will illuminate the Harbor. The13th annual event is hosted by Boston Harbor Now in partnership with MeetBoston. 

It will be a special evening of free, outdoor enjoyment for people of all ages, to celebrate all the waterfront has to offer!

• Live Music & Activities: 7:00 – 8:30 PM
• Fireworks Display: Begins at dusk (approximately 8:30 PM)

Viewing areas will be available at locations across the Boston Inner Harbor Harborwalk in South Boston, East Boston, Charlestown, and North End. Our closest viewing location is Fan Pier Park and Moakley Bridge.

And before the fireworks, enjoy the last free Harborwalk Sounds concert at the ICA Harborwalk from 6pm to 8:30pm with Ness DeJean, an emerging pop singer-songwriter with a voice that channels soul, passion, and raw emotion. A quick reminder that the ICA is free on Thursday nights from 5pm to 8pm.

The Block Party is a FREE community art celebration organized in collaboration with local artists to put money in the hands of POC creatives and connect people to the Boston waterfront. There will be a vibrant art mart with more than 50 local art vendors. There will be live performances by both up-and-coming and well-known artists. Fort Point Festival & Arts Marketplace Debuts In Partnership With Roundhead Brewing & Fresh Food Generation

updated 06/12/24 with exciting opportunity for musicians to perform from 3pm to 8pm on June 22nd. 

The Fort Point Neighborhood Association, in collaboration with 249 A St Artists Cooperative, The Artist Building at 300 Summer St, Midway Artist Studios, The Muse at 63 Melcher, and FPAC, is excited to announce the first ever Fort Point Festival and Arts Marketplace. 

This family-friendly event is held in partnership with the Alianza Park Series*, a beer garden by Roundhead Brewing with Fresh Food Generation's pop-up, occurring at the A St Park.

The Fort Point Festival & Arts Marketplace will be on Saturday, June 22, 2024 from 12pm to 8pm. This change from a two day to one day festival is at the suggestion of our artist participants.

There is limited spaces available. If you are an artist or artisan who would like to join us and sell your work at our open-air art market, the fee for one of the 24 available spaces is $25 for the day and artists will retain 100% of their sales proceeds. 

If you are interested in participating, please fill out the Google form or scan the QR code above. Applications will be accepted on a rolling acceptance basis until Friday, June 14th.

If you are a musician interested in performing at the Fort Point Festival & Arts Marketplace, there are slots available from 3pm to 8pm on June 22nd, Please email us by June 18th. 

*The Alianza Park Series, offering community based activations through food, beverages, art, music and games, is taking place Wednesday to Sunday at seven City of Boston Parks throughout the summer. Allianza will be at A Street Park from June 19 through June 23 and June 26 through June 30.

Celebrate 2023 National Night Out

Celebrate National Night Out on Tuesday, August 1, 2023, from 5pm to 8pm at the Moakley Park basketball courts on Columbia Road. 

The 38th Annual National Night Out Boston is a citywide celebration that cultivates and strengthens partnerships between the community, youth, law enforcement, city/state agencies, and community-based organizations.  The event also acknowledges the contributions that Neighborhood Watch Groups make to Boston’s neighborhood safety and it fosters community participation. 

Come meet Mayor Michelle Wu, Police Commissioner Michael Cox, Boston Police Department Command Staff and your neighbors! 

There will be free kids' activities, food and entertainment plus awards for Boston's crime watch groups.

National Night Out, “America’s Night Out Against Crime”, began in 1984 in an effort to promote involvement in crime prevention activities, police-community partnerships, neighborhood camaraderie and send a message to criminals letting them know that neighborhoods are organized and fighting back. The National Night Out program culminates annually, on the first Tuesday of August nationwide.  National Night Out represents the kind of spirit, vitality and determination to help make neighborhoods a safer place year-round. The one-night celebration honors safety and crime prevention successes and works to expand and strengthen programs year-round.

Councilor Flynn To Host Kids Town Hall

Boston City Councilor Ed Flynn will be hosting a Kids Town Hall this Friday, May 15, 2020 at 6:00PM on Zoom. District 2 children ages 5-12 are encouraged to join and ask Councilor Flynn any questions about his work as an elected official on the Boston City Council. The Town Hall will be followed by a 10 minute Kids Yoga session with Instructor Julia.

Children may SIGN UP with the help of their parents.

“During these uncertain times, it’s critical that we continue to engage our neighborhood children with informative conversations and fun activities like Kids Yoga,” said Councilor Flynn. “I’m happy to host this discussion with the youth of our communities and answer any questions they may have about their city and local government.”

The Seaport & All That Jazz

This weekend, August 30th and August 31st, is the ninth annual Boston Jazz Fest at the Maritime Park in the Seaport. Boston Jazz Fest kicks off Friday evening at 5:30 pm until 9:30 pm and noon to 9:30 pm on Saturday. Stroll on down for this family friendly free event and enjoy great music by a diverse array of Jazz artists.

Did you know Artists For Humanity recently expanded their EpiCenter? This Wednesday, January 30 from 5 pm - 7 pm, Artists For Humanity invites you to their first Open Studios of 2019.  Tour bustling studios, meet inspiring teens, preview the latest projects, network with local creatives, and mingle over wine and cheese. The event is free, family-friendly, and open to the public. Artist For Humanity is located at 100 West 2nd Street next to the A Street Park and just blocks away from the Broadway red line T station.

Start February with the Fort Point Arts Community (FPAC) opening reception of Melt , a reinterpretation of Nordic myths — with feminist and science fiction twists through video, photography and sculpture by artists Isabel Beavers and Laine Rettmer. The artists created Melt during a residency in Iceland. The opening reception is Friday, February 1st from 6 pm - 8 pm at FPAC Gallery, 300 Summer Street. More details.

The Loop, an interactive art experience, has landed at One Seaport Square (between Showcase Icon and Scorpian). Take a seat in these giant circular structures, pump the handlebar, and watch a story unfold. The installation will be around until February 17, 2019. More details.

On Sunday, February 10th at 2 pm, the Fort Point Theatre Channel presents Her Story Is Translated: Perspectives on Poetry, Playwriting, and Music in Arabic and English coordinated by Jennifer Jean and Amy Merrill. Her Story Is continues with this special event highlighting the process of “translation” in the poetry, plays, and music between and among several artists living in Iraq and in the United States. Senator Nick Collins To Host Office Hours Friday

Did you know our neighborhood is made up of city, federal and state property owners in addition to private owners? I know you know we have elected officials from all three levels of government. State Senator Nick Collins will be holding office hours today, Friday, August 24, 2018 from 2 pm to 5 pm at the South Boston Public Library.  

Come bring ideas or concerns regarding public transportation, public safety, development on State owned land such as the BCEC, MBTA Red line testing on Track 61, the future of the Northern Avenue Bridge or anything else on your mind. If you have never met the Senator, he invites you to stop by to say hello. 

The library is located at 646 E. Broadway between I and K Streets (across from the Paramount and Stop & Shop).

Windows and Mirrors: Transformation In The Seaport

They say a picture is worth a thousand words. Fort Point photographer George Vasquez chronicles the explosion of window and mirrors transforming the Seaport in his one man show at the Gallery At 249 A. His photographs portray the Seaport as buildings of steel and glass emerging and merging with sky and water on the edge of the Boston Harbor.

The exhibition runs through May 15th. The gallery is open by appointment and during 249 A Street's Spring Open Studios weekend, May 12-13th. 

Gallery At 249 A features rotating art exhibitions and special arts events. The space is an evolving project of the 249 A Street Cooperative, one of Massachusetts’s first limited-equity live/work cooperative for artists. The building, which is home to more than 45 artists and their families, has served as a model for artists’ housing nationwide and was key in the growth of the Fort Point Arts Community (FPAC). Gallery At 249 A Street was the home of the FPAC Office for its first eleven years. The 249 A Street Cooperative celebrated its 30th anniversary with the opening of this new gallery space in September 2014.

If the winter blues have you down, then the Fort Point Theatre Channel's MCFARLAND is guaranteed to laugh those blues away. It's Time To Put On Your Holiday Walking Shoes

Start by walking over to the South Boston Christmas Stroll Thursday, November 30, 2017. Festivities start at 4 pm at the South Boston Library and carolers will be strolling around East & West Broadway entertaining all in anticipation of Santa's arrival at 5 pm. Bringing Up Baby is hosting puppet shows beginning at 5:30 pm. Don't forget to check out the Shop, Sip and Dine deals. In addition, the South Boston Arts Association gallery, Arts Around the Corner, will be open from 4 pm  - 7 pm at 317 E Street. 


Friday, December 1st marks the second annual tree lighting at Seaport Common (85 Northern Ave). Join your neighbors from 6 pm - 8 pm for holiday tunes by Rich Dimare, sips and treats from Seaport restaurants and giveaways. Light Up Seaport benefits Massachusetts Fallen Heroes and The Galvin Foundation. Register for this free event. 

Mayor Walsh invites you to the annual South Boston Tree Lighting on Sunday, December 3rd at Medal of Honor (M) Park. There will be ponies (yes, ponies), ballon animals, music, refreshments and more. The free event starts at noon and is part of the 22nd Enchanted Trolley Tour bringing holiday spirit to children across Boston.

National Night Out August 1st

National Night Out 2017 is coming to South Boston Tuesday, August 1st from 5 pm - 8 pm at Moakley Park*. 

Sgt. Mike Mylett, Community Service Office District C-6, invites you to a free cookout and DJ entertainment along with this year's award presentation by Mayor Walsh and Police Commissioner Evans. There will be free kids' activities too.

The event is open to all ages. Be sure to stop by on your way to the 7th Annual African Festival of Boston taking place 10 am - 7 pm on the Rose Kennedy Greenway.

Stitched Into Memory is an arts education initiative teaching ancient West African textile arts to Boston youth led by Stephen Hamilton, with the generous support of the New England Foundation for the Arts, and in collaboration with the Friends of Fort Point Channel. The project celebrates and commemorates the historic and contemporary African Diasporic communities of Boston.
