Proposed Work: Build a new 6th floor roof deck level with existing penthouse. Roof deck to include custom pergola, bench, lounge and bar-style seating along with lush plantings and greenery.

Proposed Work: Drill (2) 2 inch holes through the rear wall and install PVC piping.

Proposed Work: New streetscape consisting of permeable concrete unit pavers, exposed aggregate concrete sidewalk, and a granite paver accent strip. The streetscape improvements will include trees, streetlamps, and timber benches consistent with previously constructed improvements on Necco Street.  The work will also include the installation of (1) Blue Light Emergency phone portal.   See additional items under administrative review.

Applicant: Paul Connolly

Proposed Work: Application approved with provisos on 3/10/2023. Returning to the Commission as requested with more details on the banners including: variations in banner color schemes; a reduction in their scale (removing the lower level where the tenant name is and shortening the banner); adding in the text "Fort Point;" as well as renderings showing how they will look along the street.

APP # 24.0246 FPC 10 NECCO STREET: Raise one (1) corner of sidewalk at 10 Necco Street to create flush connection to tabled intersection on Necco Street incorporating ADA warning plates and concrete.

Proposed Work: Replace existing loading dock and stairs at rear of building. At roof, repair two (2) brick head houses, install mechanical equipment, and expand existing mechanical penthouse.

III  Administrative Review/ Approval: In order to expedite the review process, the commission has delegated the approval of certain work items, such as those involving ordinary maintenance and repair, restoration or replacement, or which otherwise have a minimal impact on a building's appearance, to commission staff pending ratification at its monthly public hearing. Having been identified as meeting these eligibility criteria and all applicable guidelines, the following applications will be approved at this hearing.

Thompson Place to Open for Vehicles

By Friday, October 11, 2019, the City of Boston will open Thompson Place for vehicles. 

Traffic will flow, one way only, from Congress Street to Seaport Boulevard. This will continue to be a private street and there is no public street parking available. Additional traffic signs will be posted, traffic signals will control the intersection of Thompson Place and Seaport Boulevard, and Boston Police plan to be on-site at the opening. 

The BPDA presented Thomson Place: Connectivity & Design at FPNA's September 18, 2019 meeting. Further design improvements presented such as bike lanes are still under review with the City, Thomson Place owners, abutters and the community.
