Wormwood Park Closure For Repairs Starting Monday

Attention Wormwood Park Visitors 

Wormwood Park (Wormwood & A Streets) will be closed starting Monday, December 16th for 7-10 days while USPS replaces pavers on the pathway. 

Please make alternative plans during the park closure. Have you visited A Street Park (between Richards & W. 1st Streets) or Binford Park (Channel end of Binford Street)?

Who Is Up For Neighborhood Beautification Saturday?

4pm Update: We are on! Please join us in Wormwood Park for gardening until 6pm (weeds are easier to pull after the rain) and then food and refreshments at 6pm. Thanks for volunteering! 

Have you walked the Harborwalk along the Fort Point Channel or along A Street?  The Harborwalk is a living gem connecting Boston neighborhoods to the water. Wormwood Park is our loved small neighborhood park at the corner of A and Wormwood Streets. 

On Saturday morning, you are cordially invited to join FPNA and the Friends of the Boston Harborwalk as we clean the Harborwalk, the banks of the Channel and surrounding streets on:

We will be weeding the A Street fence line, the tree pits and in Wormwood Park.

We invite volunteers from the morning and afternoon beautification events to enjoy pizza from Tuscan Kitchen, pasta and salad from Serafina and wine from Mayhew starting at 5pm.

FPNA celebrates its seventeenth annual Love Your Block this Saturday as we sweep, pick and rake our way into Fall. Love Your Block is run in conjunction with the Mayor Office of Civic Organizing's volunteer neighborhood beautification program.

Wormwood Park Closed Monday

On Monday, August 6, 2018 the United States Postal Service will be removing some diseased trees from Wormwood Park. The work will start around 7:30 am and is anticipated to be completed in one day. Although the work will be performed from the USPS parking lot side, the park will be closed to ensure public safety. Neighbors are encouraged to use Binford Street Park or A Street Park instead. 

Wormwood Park came into existence due to the dedicated efforts of a group of Fort Point neighbors during the Central Artery project and is located on USPS land. 

Neighbors remain an integral part of the park's care and enjoyment. The Fort Point Neighborhood Association organizes plantings in the park during the City's Love Your Block spring program. If you are interested in being part of a Wormwood Park Gardening Group, please contact FPNA. 

Impromptu Community Potluck

Gather with your neighbors this Friday, November 11, 2016 at 6 pm at Wormwood Park (Wormwood & A Streets) for an Impromptu Community Potluck. Bring food and refreshments to share, chairs and whatever possible. Dress warmly for a brisk 45 degrees. This is a free event open to the public. All are welcome.

Weed, Wine & Vines: Make Fort Point Shine

The Fort Point Neighborhood Association will be holding their third gardening event, Weed, Wine and Vines, on Tuesday, August 9th at 6 pm. 

This is a fun way to be outdoors, get a bit of exercise and visit with neighbors all while beautifying our neighborhood.

Gather at Wormwood Park (Wormwood & A Streets) and weed and clean the way to wine, cheese and other small plates afterwards in the park.

Gardeners' Night in Fort Point

The Fort Point Neighborhood Association (FPNA), The Friends of Wormwood Park and The Friends of A Street Vines will be hosting a second much needed WEEDING AND WINE event along the A Street Fence and Wormwood Park.

Come and put your name in for a plot. We will draw 8 names for the garden plots and then 8 more for the waiting list. If you cannot attend, please send a proxy.

Garden plots are for 3 year terms to allow more people to participate in the garden over time.

If you are designated a plot, you must be prepared to plant your garden starting the week of July 14th.

Make Fort Point Shine This Sunday

After last weekend's inspiring FPAC Spring Open Studios, we invite you to create your own artistic vision by joining the Fort Point Neighborhood Association's tenth annual Fort Point Boston Shines. Boston Shines is a community-wide volunteer program to plant, sweep, and rake our way into spring. The event originally scheduled by the City for the Saturday of Open Studios, will take place:

After Party at Wormwood Park starting at 5 pm.

Meet at Wormwood Park for coffee and pastries. Tools, rakes, trowels, gardening gloves, and a free t-shirt provided by the City of Boston. Green thumb not required!

We will be continuing the planting started by fifty enthusiastic volunteers from local Fort Point businesses who had fun designing their own tree garden circles and street panels along the fence last Friday. We are thankful for their tremendous efforts; however, there are still tree circle gardens and street panels to plant.

After digging in the dirt, you will be rewarded by an After Party in Wormwood Park at 5 pm. Volunteers and their families are welcome to attend. Food and refreshments are generously donated by Barrington Coffee, Barlow's Restaurant, Pastoral, Sagarino's and Southie Liquors.
