Pastoral To Open The Sub Shop December 11th

A message from our Pastoral Neighbors

A fresh twist on lunchtime favorites is coming to Fort Point. The Sub Shop at Pastoral is a creative pop-up concept inside Pastoral that will officially open on Wednesday, December 11th, at 345 Congress Street, Boston, MA 02115.

Serving lunch from 11:00 AM to 2:30 PM, Wednesday through Saturday (or until sold out), this casual counter-service experience reimagines classic submarine sandwiches with bold flavors, house-baked sub rolls, all crafted with care. Take-out and dining room options are both available.

Signature subs include:
  • Gunpowder Steak and Cheese – A bold take on the classic steak and cheese, finished with creamy Alabama white sauce.

  • Spicy Calabrian Chicken – Crispy, fiery chicken paired with flavors that pack a punch.

  • Italian - prosciutto, mortadella, toscano salami, provolone, homemade hots, shredduce, tomato, sub sauce
Perfect for local residents, nearby workers, and visitors exploring Fort Point, The Sub Shop combines what everyone loves about subs (quick, easy, and delicious) with what Boston diners and foodies have come to expect from Pastoral: innovative and handcrafted excellence.

“Pastoral has been a go-to for my family and business for dinners and catered events for the last decade – knowing once again that there’s a high-quality go-to lunch option here is very exciting.” Ari Hauben, Creative & Founder, Button Factory & longtime resident.

Join us for the opening and claim your spot at Boston’s newest lunch hotspot. But act fast—these subs are available until we sell out!

A Taste of The Arts

Boston Virtuosi Chamber OrchestraFort Point, a long time destination for the arts, is becoming a dining destination too. Fort Point's Boston Virtuosi Chamber Orchestra is combining your love of the culinary arts with your love of music and dance in A Taste of the Arts, a restaurant crawl of Fort Point, which culminates in a free concert on Atlantic Wharf Waterfront Plaza.

A Taste of the Arts takes place on June 14, 2014 with the restaurant tour starting at 2:30 pm and the concert at 5:30 pm. Click here to purchase your ticket for mouthwatering samplings at Fort Point's hottest restaurants:  Pastoral, Tavern Road, Barlow's, Lucky’s, Gather, Blue Dragon, Trade, and Bee's Knees

Finish your Fort Point experience with a performance featuring a string quartet, guitar, piano, and the Urbanity Dancers directed by Fort Point choreographer Kristen Fumarola; with an outrageous surprise twist you never saw coming! The Ragazzi-Michelin Duo return, playing an exiting blend of contemporary jazz and South American music. The concert will include new compositions written for the ensemble and is free to the public. Some seating is available near the musicians, but many attendees prefer to lounge on the lawn overlooking the channel “a la Tanglewood”. Bring a blanket or beach chair, a picnic and enjoy!

Boston Virtuosi's A Taste of the Arts is featured in The Improper Bostonian's summer line-up, Primed for Summer: An A-Z Guide to Alfresco Adventures and by Boston Idea Week.

Boston Virtuosi is an ensemble comprised of busy Boston free-lance musicians who are colleagues and friends. BV members share the vision of making music in a spirit of true collaboration and insight. Boston Virtuosi musicians perform with the Boston Pops, Boston Ballet, Symphony New Hampshire and many well-known performing arts organizations throughout New England. This concert is one of a series, designed to promote the district’s cultural vitality with live music.

The restaurant crawl is the fund-raiser for Boston Virtuosi, a 501 c-3 non-profit, which will help support outreach concerts in the underserved South Boston community, Visit Boston Virtuosi for more information.

The Southie Shuttle is generously donating their chauffeur services for the event.

Locations:
Restaurant crawl meetup at 2:30 pm outside on Binford Green located at A St. & Binford St. across from 35 Channel Center St Boston MA 02210. First stop is Barlow's Restaurant.

Concert starts at 5:30 pm at Atlantic Wharf Waterfront Plaza, which is located across the Fort Point Channel from the Boston Children's Museum. Rain location is Atlantic Wharf Atrium at 290 Atlantic Ave. Boston, MA 02210

Make Fort Point Shine This Sunday

After last weekend's inspiring FPAC Spring Open Studios, we invite you to create your own artistic vision by joining the Fort Point Neighborhood Association's tenth annual Fort Point Boston Shines. Boston Shines is a community-wide volunteer program to plant, sweep, and rake our way into spring. The event originally scheduled by the City for the Saturday of Open Studios, will take place:

Fort Point Boston Shines
Sunday, May 18th
10 am - 3 pm
Wormwood Park (A St & Wormwood St)
After Party at Wormwood Park starting at 5 pm.

Meet at Wormwood Park for coffee and pastries. Tools, rakes, trowels, gardening gloves, and a free t-shirt provided by the City of Boston. Green thumb not required!

We will be continuing the planting started by fifty enthusiastic volunteers from local Fort Point businesses who had fun designing their own tree garden circles and street panels along the fence last Friday. We are thankful for their tremendous efforts; however, there are still tree circle gardens and street panels to plant.

After digging in the dirt, you will be rewarded by an After Party in Wormwood Park
at 5 pm. Volunteers and their families are welcome to attend. Food and refreshments are generously donated by Barrington Coffee, Barlow's Restaurant, Pastoral, Sagarino's and Southie Liquors.

Sign up to be part of the Fort Point Neighborhood Team.

Together let's make Fort Point Shine!
