About The Neighborhood This Week: Parking Restrictions & Art Openings

June 10: Artists for Humanity's (AFH) invites you to Portrait Project: Honoring 250 Years of Changemakers Opening Reception from 6pm to 8pm with an artist talk starting at 5pm and the opportunity to tour seven design studios to see the creative process in action. The Portrait Project commemorates the American Revolution with a series of portraits created by AFH teens honoring individuals who have shaped Boston and local Massachusetts communities from the nation’s founding to the present day. Artists for Humanity is located at 100 W. 2nd Street. 

June 11: Join artist Mirana Comstack for the EYE OF THE STORM: Photographs of Protest and Resistance Opening Reception from 6pm to 8pm at the Midway Gallery within Midway Artist Studios at 15 Channel Center St. Pin on a button, grab a sign, sing a protest song and become part of this interactive exhibit chronicling protest and resistance. The exhibit runs through July 29th. 


June 11 through June 12: No parking on A Street from Congress to Melcher from 11pm to 5am in preparation of road striping including the bike lane. Please note this marks the end of parking on A Street from Congress to the Blue Dragon corner of Melcher St. More resident parking has been added to Melcher St. 


June 12: The artists at the the Artist Building at 300 Summer Street are excited to announce the reopening of Gallery 300 and to invite you to the Opening Reception of Three Visions of Landscape from 6pm to 8pm. The exhibit showcases work by Anthony Apesos, Fiona Bank and Karl Stevens, and runs through August 2nd.
