Latest on 15 Necco

National Development and Alexandria Real Estate Equities made some updates to the architectural design and ground floor uses. The developers presented their project modifications at the February 27th BPDA Public Meeting as many of you (over 120 neighbors) can attest.

The comment deadline was extended to Friday, March 13th in order for the community to give input on the revised proposal.

Revised Project Highlights
  • Architectural Design- Does the revised design now fit within the existing neighborhood and set the tone for future development along the Channel?
  • Mechanical Penthouse- No reduction yet to 35' mechanical penthouse.
  • Civic & Cultural Space-  Does the civic and cultural space meet the needs of the neighborhood? Original commitments included over 25,000 square feet of collaboration space, community work lounge and museum in addition to cafĂ© and restaurant space. Latest proposal is 2,000 square feet of non-profit use and 2,700sf lobby corridor with “touch-down” (tables, chairs & wifi) space with the remainder of the space dedicated to restaurant and retail.
