10/7: David Abel's film, Inundation District, broadcasts at 7pm on PBS World channel. In a time of rising seas and intensifying storms, one of the world’s wealthiest, most-educated cities made a fateful decision to spend billions of dollars erecting a new neighborhood along its coast - on landfill, at sea level. 10/9: MA ResilientCoasts Public Meeting at 6pm to 7:30pm  to provide an update on the ResilientCoasts Plan, present the Coastal Resilience Districts, and receive input on the project's approach. The goal of the ResilientCoasts initiative is to develop a comprehensive, state-wide strategy for coastal resilience in the Commonwealth. In collaboration with the state’s coastal communities and other stakeholders, ResilientCoasts will pursue a multipronged approach to identify regulatory, policy, and funding mechanisms to develop focused long-term solutions. Future of Open Space & Ground Floor Spaces At 244 -284 A Street

updated 10/6/23 with some additional follow up information provided by the applicant to MassDEP.

Related Beal is seeking a Chapter 91 Consolidated Written Determination for ground floor facilities of public accommodation (FPA) at 244‐284 A Street, to authorize:

• approximately 6.46‐acres of the mixed‐use development which includes three (3) residential/commercial/R&D Office buildings
• associated underground parking structure
• internal roadways
• open space/public parks, a waterfront overlook and dock 
• improvements to the existing Harborwalk 

in and on filled and flowed tidelands of the Fort Point Channel. Additionally, the Applicant seeks an extended license term pursuant to 310 CMR 9.15(b). The proposed project has been determined to be Nonwater‐Dependent.  

There will be two opportunities for the public to participate plus providing written public comments:

City Council Hearing on IndyCar Race Tues

Boston City Council is holding a hearing on the Proposed Grand Prix of Boston IndyCar Race on Tuesday at 3pm. The public is invited to attend and testify. In addition, testimony and/or questions for the race can be sent ahead of time to ccc.ac@boston.gov and Councillor Wu (Michelle.Wu@boston.gov) and they will be printed and included in the packets distributed to the committee. Make sure they're sent in by Tuesday at 2pm.
