Special Neighborhood Blood Drive April 9th

Our neighbor, Morrison Mahoney LLP, will host a special Blood Drive for the neighborhood on Thursday, April 9, 2026. The drive commemorates their April 5, 2013 drive where the donated blood was typed, tested and on the shelves at MGH on April 15, 2013, to treat victims of the Boston Marathon. That experience demonstrates the importance of a constant, reliable and safe blood supply.

If you are able to donate blood, please make an appointment for:

First time and repeat donors are welcomed and celebrated.

Blood is required every day. Please consider these facts:

♥1/3 of us will require a blood transfusion in our lifetime;
♥3 lives can be saved by one donation; and
♥Every 2 seconds, someone in the United States requires blood.

Let’s just make this the best blood drive yet.  Thank you for your donation!

The Blood Mobile will park on Summer Street.  Registration and refreshments will occur inside the first floor of 250 Summer Street – just follow the signs.  Only your medical screen (history, temp, iron check, BP) is done, the actual donation will take place on the Blood Mobile.  While the process is always clean and safe, MGH has added even additional safety protocols (between every donor they sanitize pens, clipboards, BP cuffs, etc.).

The blood supply is critically low right now. The average donation time is between 30 and 40 minutes. Appointments are necessary so everyone can be physically distanced. If you can give blood, please use the link above to make your appointment today.
