Mayor's Neighborhood Services Taking It To The Streets

Mayor Walsh announced NEW (Neighborhood Engagement Walks), an audit program of the streets of Boston. Starting September 15, 2014 staff from the Mayor’s Office of Neighborhood Services (ONS) will begin walking the 850 miles of city streets across Boston, in an effort to assess every neighborhood from the ground up. They will evaluate infrastructure challenges, identify resident concerns and catalog issues facing the neighborhood. Keep an eye out for Eric Prentis on foot with tablet gathering data. The data will also be used to create a web based story map. NEW is expected to be concluded by the end of the year. A neighborhood report will be presented at a future Fort Point Neighborhood Association (FPNA) neighborhood meeting.

Don't forget to do your part by reporting issues through Citizen's Connect and joining in the discussions at:

Fort Point Crossroads Initiative Community Update Meeting: September 8th from 6pm - 8pm at Factory 63 (63 Melcher Street).  The Fort Point Crossroads Initiative focuses on making a greater connection between Fort Point and Downtown via improvements to Summer Street and Congress Street.

FPNA monthly neighborhood meetings: Next meeting is Tuesday, September 30th from 6pm-8pm at Factory 63 with Massport Aviation and Councilor-At-Large Ayanna Pressley. Each meeting opens with a general meeting where neighbors are invited to discuss concerns and ideas for the neighborhood.
