Boston Shines - Please join us!

Greetings Neighbors,

It’s that time again! Boston Shines is on Saturday, April 27th.  Please join us  for our 9thth year. Last year’s event was a huge success and the after party was great fun.

More info. to follow, but this season we will be adding to climbing vines along A Street on the USPS wire fence to create an attractive visual mitigation of the parking lot view.  Sean, The Mayor’s South Boston Liaison will need to know how many tools we’ll need, special requests, and the number of volunteers.

We will gather at 9AM in the Channel Center Park near Barlow’s. As always there will be coffee and pastries in the morning and signs posted with more info.

The after party will be at Wormwood Park on Sunday at 3:00 (Too cold usually Sat night). List of food contributors to follow. Updated info. will also be available on the Fort Point Blog at fortpointneighborhood.org.

It would be helpful if someone could transport goodies to 300 Summer, the other tool drop off and gathering site We could use a 300 Summer point person or two as well. The clean up is a great opportunity to get to know new and old neighbors. We all well know this kind of commitment sends a message to stakeholders and elected officials, but that shouldn't be the only reason we buff up Fort Point Channel. See you there!

If anyone has questions or suggestions please send an email to cam.zin@verizon.net, or call 617-797-2307

Meeting new tenant of Midway Studios - 4/16 6:30pm

via Cam -

--
In April 2012 a public meeting was held to address concerns of neighborhood residents about the tenant of the lower floors of the Midway Studios Building. Since then, the former tenant was relocated. The building owner has been seeking an alternative and working with an advisory group to consider options resulting from a tenant search process. The building owner would like to provide an update to the neighborhood about current plans to tenant the spaces and requested that the BRA schedule this meeting with the community.

The meeting will be held on Tuesday, April 16th at 6:30pm at Midway Studios. The public is welcome to come hear a presentation by the building owner and the selected tenant about next steps.

Deadline for Voter Registration Wed

via Cam -

--
This coming Wednesday is the final day to register to vote in the upcoming
primary for State Senator. Registering and voting helps Fort Point and the
arts community to be heard by, and get action from, our elected officials.

Here's a link for various forms:
http://www.cityofboston.gov/elections/voter_reg.asp

Please Note: at this point, registrations must be made in person at Boston
City Hall in order to be able to vote in the primary. The elections office
is located on the second floor of City Hall, just beyond the parking ticket
windows.

Please please take the time to vote- if we want help in our neighborhood we need to show them all we care.
