According to the Boston Business Journal, Michael Schlow is opening a restaurant in the Seaport Marriot on Congress St which is set to open later this winter:

Schlow to open new Boston restaurant
Michael Schlow, owner/operator of Radius, Via Matta and Great Bay in Boston, as well as Alta Strada in Wellesley, has signed a consulting agreement with the Renaissance Boston Waterfront Hotel to open a restaurant there. The Renaissance Boston Waterfront Hotel is slated to open in South Boston's Seaport District this January. The restaurant concept and name are currently under development. A name has not been chosen. The restaurant will be located street-side and feature an exhibition kitchen, a chef's communal table, floor to ceiling wine displays, and an outdoor seating area.

  1. Another new project closer to the neighborhood looks very promising:

The Fort Point Cultural Coalition (FPCC), Spaulding Tougias Architects and Superior Dining have partnered in an effort to develop 241 A Street(40 Channel Center). It has taken a while to put together and negotiate the purchase, but we believe it will come together in the next couple of weeks and we are anxious to begin.

Later in the spring, we will be working with the City (Neighborhood Services) and hosting some “formal” meetings when licensing and other plans start to move, but in advance of that we would like to initiate an introductory community meeting. The building is envisioned as a space for local firms (we have priced it and been marketing to mostly local design firms), a home for STA who has been in the neighborhood for 14 years, a restaurant on the first floor and a subsidized/reduced rent on the lower level for a direct arts use. We have also started some conversations about public art. At this point, as you can imagine there are a lot of unknowns and the planning is now beginning in earnest, but it seemed to make sense to start talking as soon as possible.

We would like to invite you to an introductory meeting on 1/22 at 6:00 at Midway Studios. Please come, meet the new owners and start a discussion. If you can not attend and have ideas or thoughts, feel free to contact me. Also please distribute this e-mail to your friends and neighbors.
